Cataloging Assistant (Main Library)

Under the general direction of the Head of Technical Services, the Cataloging Assistant performs functions in cataloging, acquisitions, and processing. The position requires an understanding of or an ability to learn the overall functions and workflow of the Technical Services department. The position requires an understanding of or an ability to learn the functions of the library system to serve the public and an understanding of how Technical Services supports the public services staff.  The position requires close attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of or an ability to learn cataloging practices based on AACR2, RDA and MARC format.
