Meet other local writers for a weekly writing group at the Main Library in LaGrange. Come share something you’ve written, or take advantage of the Library atmosphere to get some writing done. We'll have writing prompts each week to get you started. Writers of all genres and experience welcome!

Dungeons and Bookworms

Do you long to pick up your sword and slay dragons, or wield your magic for the good of the realm? This adult Pathfinder RPG group is for you! No experience needed, but registration is required. Space is limited. Email if you are interested in joining.


Want to try RPGs, but not sure you have the time to commit to a full campaign? Register for monthly one-shot games and try out new systems! Registration is requried. One-shot games will typically be offered on Tuesday evenings.


Flashlight readers

This new book club will meet at South Oldham on the second Tuesday evening of each month. The next session is 6:30pm on December 11th, and the book is Looking for Alaska by John Green. Pick up your copy of the book at the South Oldham Library.

knitting nights

Are you a knitter? A crocheter? A (rug) hooker? Do you want to learn how to do any of those things? Drop in the Main Library. Bring your own projects to work on and show off, or come and use supplies provided to start your own fiber obsession. The library will provide hot beverages, yarn, needles, and instruction for beginners. No registration required for this event; adults only.

The Mystery Society is an adult book club run by the library that features mystery books old and new. Sign up to receive a copy of the month's book and then join us for discussion and detection! Titles for the next month are revealed at the previous meeting.NOW TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO JOIN! Each month a morning and an evening session of the Mystery Society will meet. Drop in the Main Library during Open Game Days for tabletop fun! We have over 100 different board games to choose from. Learn a new game or play an old favorite. This event is family friendly; children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Open Lab starts at the Main Library on September 19th and continues every Wednesday! Drop in during library hours to use equipment in the Maker Lab. All Open Lab hours are supervised by staff available to give assistance. Some equipment may require training before use.

Looking for a new job? A Talent Development Specialist from Kentuckian Works will be at the Main Library Tuesdays and Wednesdays in study room #2 from 9:30am-3:30pm. Weekly sessions will include workshops on resume building, networking, linkedin, job search assistance and more.
