2020 Winter Writing Contest

The annual OCPL Winter Writing Contest as sponsored by the Adult Writers Group opens for submissions on December 27th. This year’s theme is Discovery, and the format is poetry. In addition to matching the theme, each poem should be inspired by one of the three pictures below. Writers of all ages are welcome to submit entries online through January 31st for consideration. Winners will receive a gift card, and first place entries will be published in the Oldham Era. Submissions are evaluated by members of the Adult Writers Group, which meets on select Saturdays at the Main Library in LaGrange.

Rules and Guidelines:
· Poems must be on the theme of Discovery and inspired by one of the three photos above
· Poems should be limited to no more than two typed pages, size 12 font, standard margins
· Poems may be free verse, or any standard form
· Entries are limited to three per person
· Entries must be submitted online
· Entries must be submitted by 5pm on January 31st. Late entries will not be accepted.

Age categories:
· 11 years and younger
· 12-17 years
· 18 and older
